Paraíso Andaluz

Hoy vamos a hablar de tres lugares especiales de Andalucía (España):
  • El Peñón de Zaframagón
  • La Garganta Verde
  • Cortes de la Frontera

El Peñón de Zaframagón es una formación rocosa situada en la Reserva Natural del Peñón de Zaframagón, en el límite de las provincias de Sevilla (Coripe) y Cádiz (Olvera). El elemento más significativo de su relieve es la Garganta del Estrechón, profundizada por el río Guadalporcún (afluente del Guadalete).






La Garganta Verde es un espectacular cañón que ha sido excavado por el Arroyo del Pinar. Está situada en el Parque de la Sierra de Grazalema (Cádiz). El nombre de Garganta Verde le viene de la frondosa vegetación que recubre sus paredes. Para realizar el sendero que recorre la Garganta Verde es imprescindible un permiso que se otorga en el Centro de Visitantes de Zahara de la Sierra o en El Bosque. En la profundidad de la garganta se puede observar la Cueva de la Ermita.

Cortes de la Frontera es un municipio de la Provincia de Málaga, en el valle del Guadiaro, siendo una de las poblaciones que conforman la comarca de la Serranía de Ronda. Su superficie está repartida entre los Parques Naturales Sierra de Grazalema y Los Alcornocales lo que hace que parezca un "bonsai" natural entre estos dos espacios naturales.




Lo que tienen en común estos tres lugares es que son un entorno natural para los buitres leonados propios de Andalucía Occidental, y por lo tanto, está declarada como Zona de Especial Protección para las Aves.

Andalusian Paradise


Today we are going to talk about three special places in Andalusia (Spain):

  • El Peñón de Zaframagón
  • La Garganta Verde
  • Cortes de la Frontera

The Peñón de Zaframagón is a rock formation located in the Natural Reserve of El Peñón de Zaframagón on the border of the provinces of Seville (Coripe) and Cadiz (Olvera). The most significant element of the relief is La Garganta del Estrechón, deepened by the river Guadalporcún (tributary of Guadalete).



The Garganta Verde is a spectacular canyon that has been carved by the Arroyo del Pinar. It is located in the Park of the Sierra de Grazalema (Cádiz). The Garganta Verde name comes from the lush vegetation that covers its walls. To make the path that runs along the Garganta Verde is essential carry a permission that is granted in the Visitor Center of Zahara de la Sierra or in El Bosque. Deep in the throat you can see the Cave of the Hermitage.

Cortes de la Frontera is a municipality in the province of Malaga, in the valley of Guadiaro. It is one of the populations that make up the region of the Serrania de Ronda. Its surface is divided between Natural Parks of Sierra de Grazalema and the Acorns which makes it look like a natural "bonsai" between these natural areas.



The common thing between these three places is that they are a natural environment for tawny vultures which are typical in Western Andalusia, and therefore, these places are declared as a Special Protection Area for Birds.

An ancient story


Eros-ionado
El presente era
melancólicamente cierto,
¡oh Ávalon!:
encontró el Santo Grial,
el antídoto. 

 El futuro contiene
la certeza de las certezas,
¡oh justicia no-poética!:
Encontrará a Mordred,
antes,
mucho antes.

El poema está escrito por una persona más joven que el Rey Arturo y expresa un sentimiento de odio hacia él que puede deberse a un desamor.

 El título eros-ionado tiene un importante significado: todos tenemos un destino inevitable y al final todos acabamos erosionados.

 Ávalon es el nombre de una isla legendaria de la mitología celta en algún lugar de las Islas Británicas donde, según la leyenda, los manzanos dan sabrosas frutas durante todo el año y habitan nueve reinas hadas; entre ellas, Morgana (medio-hermana de Arturo y poderosa bruja).

 El centro de esta historia es la búsqueda del Santo Grial, aquella copa de la que bebiera Jesús en la Última Cena, de la que se decía que tenía poderes mágicos curativos y regenerativos. Merlín había solicitado a Arturo que buscara el Santo Grial y éste mandó a sus caballeros a encontrarlo.

 Mordred es el hijo incestuoso (ilegítimo) del Rey Arturo y Morgause. Arturo deja temporalmente a Mordred a cargo de su trono al marcharse para luchar contra el emperador de Roma. Durante la ausencia de Arturo, Mordred se corona a sí mismo como rey y se casa con Ginebra, esposa de Arturo, lo que obliga a Arturo a regresar. Se enfrentan en la batalla de Camlann, y Mordred muere, mientras que Arturo, fatalmente herido, es llevado a Ávalon con su hermana Morgana.

The poem is written by a younger person that King Arthur and expresses a feeling of hatred toward him which may be due to a lack of love.

 The title eros-ionado has a significant meaning: we all have an inevitable fate and we just end eroded.

 Avalon is the name of a legendary Celtic mythology island somewhere in the British Isles where, according to legend, apple trees give tasty fruits throughout the year and nine fairy queens live there, among them Morgan (Arthur's half-sister and a powerful witch).

 The center of this story is the search for the Holy Grail, the cup from which Jesus drank at the Last Supper, which was said to have healing and regenerative magical powers. Merlin had asked Arthur to seek the Holy Grail and Arthur ordered his men to find it.

 Mordred is incestuous son (illegitimate) of King Arthur and Morgause. Arthur temporarily leaves Mordred in charge of his throne when he left to fight against the emperor of Rome. During the absence of Arthur, Mordred crowns himself king and marries Guinevere, Arthur's wife, forcing Arthur to return. They face in the Battle of Camlann, Mordred dies while Arthur is fatally wounded, he is brought to Avalon with her sister Morgana.

Integrating Matters

La palabra matters tiene dos significados:

  • Algo de importancia
  • Materias/Asignaturas del instituto
Sabiendo estos dos significados, yo diría que la razón por la que mi profesora ha renombrado a su blog Integrating Matters es porque es una asignatura que engloba varias materias que son importantes.

Knowing these two meanings, I believe that the reason of my teacher's new blog name Integrating Matters is that Integrating Project is a subject which involves several subjects that are important.

Fuerza o Inteligencia

El chessboxing es un deporte híbrido que combina el ajedrez y el boxeo.
Se enfrentan 2 oponentes y consiste en 11 rounds por los cuales se van alternando el boxeo y el ajedrez (4 minutos de partida de ajedrez y 3 minutos de boxeo). Entre cada round hay un descanso de 1 minuto, donde los competidores cambian su vestimenta. Los guantes deben ser rojos o azules. Dependiendo de la esquina de cada boxeador a cada uno le corresponde un color. No está permitido usar guantes propios.



La modalidad de ajedrez utilizada es la blitz (ajedrez rápido) donde cada jugador dispone de 12 minutos para ejecutar todos sus movimientos. Los competidores pueden ganar por nocaut, jaque mate o una decisión tomada por los jueces cuando los 12 minutos del oponente se han terminado.





La palabra draw significa empate. Un empate de ajedrez será seguido por una ronda de boxeo (a menos que el número de rondas de boxeo ya ha sucedido). Por tanto, el combate chessboxing lo ganará quién haya acumulado más puntos en boxeo.






El concurso se decide en base a: jaque mate (ajedrez), superando el límite de tiempo (ajedrez), el retiro de un oponente (ajedrez o boxeo), KO (boxeo), o decisión de un árbitro (boxeo).

Curiosa batalla de fuerza e inteligencia que nació de la mente de un dibujante yugoslavo llamado Enki Bilal en 1992 en el cómic "Trilogía Nikopol: Le froid eqateur", pero no se llevó a la realidad hasta el año 2003, gracias al artista holandés Lepe Rubingh.

El chessboxing es controlado por la Organización Mundial de ChessBoxing (WCBO).
El primer campeonato mundial tuvo lugar en Ámsterdam (2003) cuyo campeón fue Lepe Rubingh.
El primer campeonato europeo tuvo lugar en Berlín (Octubre 2005) donde Tihomir Titschko (Bulgaria) derrotó a Andreas Schneider (Alemania).

Strength or Intelligence


Chessboxing is a hybrid sport that combines chess and boxing. 
They face two opponents and consists of 11 rounds in which boxing and chess are alternating (4 minutes of chess and 3 minutes of boxing). Between each round there is a 1 minute break, where competitors change their clothing. Gloves should be red or blue. Depending on the corner of each boxer to each corresponds a color. It is not permitted to use own gloves.

The method used in chess is blitz (fast chess) where each player has 12 minutes to execute every move. Competitors can win by knockout, checkmate or a decision made by the judges when the opponent's time (12 minutes) is over.







A chess draw will be followed by a round of boxing (unless the number of rounds of boxing has already happened). Therefore, the winner of chessboxing will be who has accumulated the most points in boxing.





The contest will be decided based on: checkmate (chess), exceeding the time limit (chess), the removal of an opponent (chess or boxing), KO (boxing), or decision of an arbitrator (boxing).

Interesting battle between strength and intelligence that was born from the mind of a Yugoslavian artist called Enki Bilal in 1992 in the comic "Nikopol Trilogy: Le froid eqateur" but it wasn't reality until 2003, thanks to the Dutch artist Lepe Rubingh.

Chessboxing is controlled by the World Chess Boxing Organisation (WCBO). 
The first World Championship was held in Amsterdam (2003) whose champion was Lepe Rubingh. 
The first European Championship was held in Berlin (October 2005) where Titschko Tihomir (Bulgaria) defeated Andreas Schneider (Germany).
