Hoy Victoria nos ha hablado de su experiencia en el extranjero. Ella es una chica joven que a los 18 años quería estudiar en el extranjero, y al no tener mucho dinero, buscó en Internet acerca de algún trabajo en algún país para poder estudiar allí.

Encontró un trabajo en Dublín como niñera. Viajó hasta Dublín donde su familia la esperaba en el aeropuerto con ganas. Se quedó a vivir con ellos durante 5 meses mientras cuidaba a 4 niños (3 niños y 1 niña) de entre 1 y 10 años.

Después estudió farmacia y consiguió trabajar en una farmacia irlandesa.

Vivió durante 2 años allí y la semana pasada regresó a España. Está muy contenta de volver aquí y además de haber extrañado a su familia española, ha echado mucho de menos el sol. Puede que suene a locura pero es la verdad, allí casi no ven el sol y lo sé porque yo también estuve en Irlanda, aunque yo tuve más suerte porque era verano y la mayoría de días eran soleados, pero vamos que no es normal que haga sol allí.

Las tres experiencias que me han gustado de su viaje son:

• Que haya encontrado la oportunidad de encontrar trabajo y un hogar durante la primera parte de su estancia en Dublín, ya que no es fácil conseguirlo.

• Es maravilloso que haya podido ejercer su profesión allí y que estuviera mejorando y practicando su inglés. A cualquiera de nosotros nos gustaría.

• Y lo mejor de todo es que ha conocido personas de otras culturas que han sido turistas como ella y ha convivido con una familia irlandesa. Ha conocido ha muchos nativos en su trabajo y ha establecido amistad con extranjeros.

Hay tres consejos bastante importantes que debemos tener en cuenta a la hora de querer tener una experiencia en el extranjero:

• Saber cuál es la moneda del país. Si no es la misma que la que se tiene, hay que realizar el cambio monetario.

• Conocer la lengua del país. Es importante dominar algo de ella antes de ir porque vas al extranjero y no sabes manejar lo básico del idioma, lo tienes difícil. Si no se domina lo suficiente se puede hacer algún curso de esos de verano antes de ir. Una vez conocido lo básico, podrás manejarte en el extranjero y una vez allí aprendes rápido a manejar el idioma.

• No olvidar el pasaporte y el DNI. Deben llevarse por separado por si alguno se pierde, se pueda usar el otro documento. Además hay que llevar la Tarjeta Sanitaria Europea (TSE) en caso de necesitar atención médica.

En el futuro me gustaría...

• Poder viajar al extranjero. Hasta ahora he tenido 3 experiencias en el extranjero (Irlanda, Turquía y Noruega). Me podría dedicar toda mi vida a viajar alrededor del mundo pero para eso necesitaría ahorrar una cantidad grande de dinero.

• Aprender otras lenguas como el alemán o el italiano.

• Estudiar psicología en el extranjero y vivir una temporada en Irlanda o Londres.

Today Victoria has told us her experience abroad. She is a young girl who wanted to study abroad at 18, despite not having much money, she looked up any work in any country to study there.

She found a job as a nanny in Dublin. She traveled to Dublin where her family was waiting for her with excitement at the airport. She stayed with them for 5 months while she was looking after 4 children (3 boys and 1 girl) from 1 to 10 years.

She lived there for 2 years and she returned to Spain last week. She is very happy to come back here. Besides having missed her Spanish family, she has really missed the sun as well. It may sounds crazy but it's the truth, they hardly see the sun and I know this because I have been in Ireland too, although I had more luck because it was summer and most of the days were sunny, but it's unlikely to be sunny there.

The three experiences that I liked the most are:

• The fact that she has had the chance to find a job and a house for the first part of her stay in Dublin, as it's not easy to achieve.

• It's wonderful that she has developed her studies there and she has been practising her english. Any of us would like to do this.

• The best of all is that she has met lots of different people of different cultures that were tourists as her and that she has lived with an Irish family. She has met lots of natives in her job and she has made friendship with foreigners.

There are three tips pretty important that we should take into account when we want to do an abroad experience:

• Know which coin they use in the country. If it's not the same as yours, you have to do an exchange money.

• Learn the language of the country. It's important to be able to speak a bit. If you don't, you can do a summer course of that language before going there. When you get there, you will learn a lot of things.

• Do not forget the passport and the ID card. You should bring them with you in case one of them get lost, you will be able to use the other document. Besides, you should take the European Health Identity Card (ECIH) in case you need medical care.

In the future I would like to...

• Be able to travel abroad. By the way, I have had 3 abroad experiences (Ireland, Turkey and Norway). I could spend my whole life travelling around the world but I will need to save a large amount of money.

• Learn another languages such as german and italian.

• Study psychology abroad and move on to Ireland or London for a while.

Una roca que parece "levitar" en Noruega

No es sólo acerca de la curiosidad de una plataforma de roca imponente que tiene vistas al golfo, por lo que parece "levitar" a unos 1.100 metros sobre el nivel del mar. La plataforma hace de balcón para disfrutar de una vista increíble.

La roca se llama  Trolltunga (o lengua de troll), y se encuentra por encima del pueblo Skjeggedal, en Odda (Noruega).

Tal vez, cuando tú subas a esta formación espectacular, algunas personas se quedarán atrás, mirando desde lejos sin atreverse a caminar sobre ella. Sería mejor dejar el vértigo en casa esta vez.

A pesar de ser de 1.100 metros de altura, la formación rocosa sobresale de la montaña unos 700 metros sobre el lago Ringedalsvatnet. La mayoría de los turistas se hacen una foto saltando sobre esta impresionante roca. Esperemos que la roca no decaiga en ningún momento.

Mågelibanen es un ferrocarril del acantilado con la línea de vía doble dispuestos en una obra de caballete de madera en Skjeggedal (Odda, Noruega). Desde la estación cerca de la presa y el lago Ringedals Vetlavatn, el funicular asciende 430 metros de la estación superior Mågelitopp, 860 metros sobre el nivel del mar. El Mågelibanen es parte de un paisaje industrial conectado a la estación de energía hidroeléctrica que figuran en Tyssedal y la industria en la ciudad de Odda.

Cada hora - y si hay suficientes pasajeros a petición - se puede descender de nuevo a Skjeggedal. Aunque estés sentado en el coche en la misma posición en ambos sentidos de marcha, el descenso será bastante vertiginoso. Poniendo las botas contra los reposapiés, esperamos el paseo por encima de la loma atreviéndonos a la fuerte pendiente como un pasajero de montañas rusas. Ahora sentado en el vagón, podrá hacer una parada justo en la parte más empinada de la línea.

La luz está "en funcionamiento" en la estación de la montaña cuando hay niebla. La conducción funicular se puede hacer por uno mismo; es decir, los pasajeros pueden deslizarse con el vagón cuando quieran.

Kjeragbolten

Kjeragbolten es una roca situada en el monte Kjerag en Rogaland (Noruega). Es un popular destino turístico y es accesible sin necesidad de equipo de escalada. Sin embargo, se suspende por encima de un profundo abismo 984 metros.

A rock that seems "levitate" in Norway

It’s not only about the curiosity of an imposing rock platform that is overlooking the gulf, so that seems to "levitate" some 1,100 meters above the sea level. The platform seems like a balcony to enjoy an amazing view.

The rock is called Trolltunga (or troll tongue), and it is located above the village of Skjeggedal, in Odda (Norway).

Perhaps, when you go up to this spectacular formation, some people will stay back watching it from afar without daring to walk on it. It would be better for the vertigo to stay at home this time.

Kjeragbolten is a boulder located in the Kjerag mountain in Rogaland (Norway). It is a popular tourist destination and is accessible without any climbing equipment. However, it is suspended above a 984-meter deep abyss.

Hoy nos ha tocado hacer un post diferente al resto. Es una entrada libre en la que puedes hablar sobre lo que quieras. Teniendo esta oportunidad, os voy a hablar sobre una ciudad exótica situada en Asia. Esta ciudad es especial para mi puesto que hace dos semanas, Alejandra y yo nos dirigíamos hacia ésta. Ha sido una experiencia muy bonita por lo que me gustaría compartirla con vosotros.

Empecemos situándonos en el mapa.

Çanakkale es una de las ciudades más importantes de Turquía, situada en la costa asiática de Dardanelos. Su importancia se debe a que es la única ciudad de Turquía que está situada entre Asia y Europa (con Estambul). Tiene un puerto muy popular donde la gente cruza el estrecho desde Europa a Asia y viceversa, en tan solo 10 minutos.

A lo largo del paseo marítimo hay muchos lugares de ocio: restaurantes, teatros, cines y muchos pero que muchísimas cafeterías. El paisaje es maravilloso, puedes ver el fondo del mar, sentarte en la orilla en unas rocas y miras hacia el frente y tienes a una Europa entera. Pensar que tú estás en Asia y que tú tienes Europa a tu frente, es una sensación muy grande que no se puede explicar con palabras.

Mensaje de la guerra hecho por Mustafa, quién es como un padre para Turquía debido a su labor durante la guerra. Los turcos lo admiran y probablemente no existirían sin él.

Si algún día tienes la posibilidad de visitar esta magnifica ciudad no te puedes perder todo esto:

• TROYA: las ruinas de esta mística ciudad se conservan en muy buen estado. Además podrás ver el mítico caballo de madera.

Otro dato importante es que puedes ver el auténtico caballo que se utilizó en la película de Troya. Lo donaron a la ciudad al terminar de rodar. Se encuentra en el paseo marítimo.

• LA FORTALEZA DE KILITBAHIR: sirvió de fortaleza durante la Primera Guerra Mundial. Ahora es un museo militar.

• LOS CEMENTERIOS MILITARES: se que suena un poco cínico pero realmente son hermosos. Un lugar digno de admirar.

Todos estos lugares se encuentran en la Península de Gallipoli, el cuál es el terreno que tenemos enfrente nuestra, al otro lado del estrecho.

Lo último de lo que os puedo hablar es de la comida. Los ingredientes que se utilizan en las comidas no varían mucho a los de aquí por lo que las comidas son muy semejantes. Eso si no os podéis ir sin haber probado esta maravilla de plato.

Son unos rollitos de arroz envueltos en unas grandes hojas verdes. Es lo mejor que he probado nunca y lo mejor es que me lo pusieron el último día que iba a estar allí. Fue como si quisieran que me llevara un buen sabor de boca. Y la verdad es que a si ha sido.

De verdad, no os podeis ir sin antes probar esto. Y esta comida es un claro ejemplo de que las apariencias engañan. No tienen muy buena pinta, pero que no os engañe porque su sabor es exquisito.

Bueno y para concluir ya, os voy a contar algo. Me he dado cuenta de los prejuicios que tenemos de la gente de Turquía. Os puedo asegurar que estamos completamente equivocados. Tenemos una imagen contraria a como son realmente. Una semana no es mucho, pero me ha hecho ver que entre los españoles y los turcos no hay tantas diferencias como creemos, al contrario, somos muy semejantes a ellos. Han sido cariñosos, hospitalarios, amables y cuidadosos, incluso se sacrificaban por cubrir tus necesidades aunque tuvieran que hacer un gran esfuerzo. La mejor palabra con la que se les podría definir es HUMILDAD.

Today we have to make a different post from the rest. It is a free entry in which you can talk about whatever you want. By taking this opportunity, I will talk about an exotic city in Asia. This city is special for me since two weeks ago, when Alejandra and I were travelling to go there. It has been a wonderful experience so I'd like to share it with you.

Let's start knowing the location of this city.

Çanakkale is one of the most important cities of Turkey, which is located on the Asian shore of the Dardanelles. Its importance is due to the fact of being the only city in Turkey which is located between Asia and Europe (with Istanbul). It has a very popular harbour where people cross the strait from Europe to Asia, in just 10 minutes.

Along the promenade there are many leisure places: restaurants, theaters, cinemas and lots of cafés. The landscape is wonderful, you can see the bottom of the sea, by sitting on the shore on the rocks and look in front of you where you can see an entire Europe. Thinking you're in Asia and you have Europe in front of you, is a very big feeling that can't be explained by words.

If you ever have the opportunity to visit this wonderful city, you can't miss this:

• TROIA: the ruins of this mystical city are in very good condition. Besides, you'll see the mythical wooden horse.

All these places are on the Gallipoli Peninsula, the field what we have in front of us, across the strait. 

The last thing that I can talk about is the food. The ingredients used in foods are the same from here so the meals are very similar. You can't go home without trying this wonderful meal.

They are rolls of rice wrapped in large green leaves. It's the best meal I've ever tried and the best thing is that I ate it the last day before I went home. It was like they wanted to take me a good impression. And the truth is that they have got it. 

Seriously, you can't go home without trying this. And this food is a clear example of looks can be deceiving. It doesn't look very nice, but don't let them cheat you because it tastes delicious.

To conclude I will tell you something. I've noticed that we have prejudices of the Turkish people. I can assure you that we are completely wrong. We have a contrary image as they really are. A week is not much, but it has made me see that between Spanish and Turkish people there's not many differences as we believe, on the contrary, we are like them. They were warm, hospitable, kind and caring, even they sacrificed themselves to cover your needs even if they had to make a big effort. The best word that could define them is HUMILITY.
