El poema está escrito por una persona más joven que el Rey Arturo y expresa un sentimiento de odio hacia él que puede deberse a un desamor.
El título eros-ionado tiene un importante significado: todos tenemos un destino inevitable y al final todos acabamos erosionados.
Ávalon es el nombre de una isla legendaria de la mitología celta en algún lugar de las Islas Británicas donde, según la leyenda, los manzanos dan sabrosas frutas durante todo el año y habitan nueve reinas hadas; entre ellas, Morgana (medio-hermana de Arturo y poderosa bruja).
El centro de esta historia es la búsqueda del Santo Grial, aquella copa de la que bebiera Jesús en la Última Cena, de la que se decía que tenía poderes mágicos curativos y regenerativos. Merlín había solicitado a Arturo que buscara el Santo Grial y éste mandó a sus caballeros a encontrarlo.
Mordred es el hijo incestuoso (ilegítimo) del Rey Arturo y Morgause. Arturo deja temporalmente a Mordred a cargo de su trono al marcharse para luchar contra el emperador de Roma. Durante la ausencia de Arturo, Mordred se corona a sí mismo como rey y se casa con Ginebra, esposa de Arturo, lo que obliga a Arturo a regresar. Se enfrentan en la batalla de Camlann, y Mordred muere, mientras que Arturo, fatalmente herido, es llevado a Ávalon con su hermana Morgana.

The title eros-ionado has a significant meaning: we all have an inevitable fate and we just end eroded.
Avalon is the name of a legendary Celtic mythology island somewhere in the British Isles where, according to legend, apple trees give tasty fruits throughout the year and nine fairy queens live there, among them Morgan (Arthur's half-sister and a powerful witch).
The center of this story is the search for the Holy Grail, the cup from which Jesus drank at the Last Supper, which was said to have healing and regenerative magical powers. Merlin had asked Arthur to seek the Holy Grail and Arthur ordered his men to find it.
Mordred is incestuous son (illegitimate) of King Arthur and Morgause. Arthur temporarily leaves Mordred in charge of his throne when he left to fight against the emperor of Rome. During the absence of Arthur, Mordred crowns himself king and marries Guinevere, Arthur's wife, forcing Arthur to return. They face in the Battle of Camlann, Mordred dies while Arthur is fatally wounded, he is brought to Avalon with her sister Morgana.
