La primavera trae al Valle del Jerte la floración de más de un millón de cerezos, que cubren todo el valle con un manto blanco. Es un auténtico espectáculo de la naturaleza que sucede a finales de marzo.
La Fiesta del Cerezo en Flor del Valle del Jerte ha sido declarada de Interés Turístico Regional. Ver cómo todo el valle se tiñe de blanco es un espectáculo que gentes de todos los lugares vienen a presenciar. Además, se organizan actividades durante la quincena de floración del cerezo. En estas actividades se muestra la cultura, gastronomía, tradiciones y formas de vida del Valle del Jerte. Durante estos días se disfrutan de exposiciones, muestras de artesanía popular en mercadillos, actuaciones musicales, y todo tipo de manifestaciones de la cultura de esta zona y de Extremadura en general.
El bello paisaje del cerezo en flor propicia los paseos y las rutas para conocer el valle. Desde lo alto del Puerto de Tornavacas podemos ver una perspectiva de todo el valle y si subimos a Piornal (el pueblo más alto de Extremadura) tendremos unas hermosas vistas de toda la zona.
Una de las rutas es la de Los Pilones, en la Reserva Natural de la Garganta de los Infiernos.

Me encantaría ir a ver este maravilloso acontecimiento con la familia para pasar el día en familia y haciendo picnic. Aunque creo que sería un bonito lugar para compartirlo con tu pareja ya que veo bastante romántico ir a dar un paseo entre los cerezos mientras las flores caen alrededor. Es simplemente un paraíso sacado de un bonito sueño.

Dream Paradise
Valle del Jerte is a region in northeastern Extremadura, Spain. What makes it special is its annual festival of flowers named La Fiesta del Cerezo en Flor.
Spring brings to Valle del Jerte bloom over a million cherry trees, covering the entire valley in a white robe. It is a true spectacle of nature that happens in late March.
La Fiesta del Cerezo en Flor of Valle del Jerte has been declared of Regional Tourist Interest. Seeing how the whole valley is dyed in white is a show that people from all over come to witness. In addition, activities are organized during the fortnight of flowering cherry. In these activities they show the culture, gastronomy, traditions and lifestyles of Valle del Jerte. During these days you can enjoy exhibitions, displays of folk crafts in markets, musical performances, and all kinds of manifestations of the culture of this area and Extremadura in general.
The beautiful landscape of cherry blossom favors the walks and the routes for the valley. From the top of the Puerto de Tornavacas we can see a view of the whole valley and if we go to Piornal (the highest village in Extremadura) we will have a beautiful view of the whole area.

I'd love to go see this wonderful event with family to spend the day with family and picnicking. Although I think it would be a nice place to share with your partner and it looks pretty romantic going for a stroll among the cherry blossoms, while the flowers falling around. It is simply a paradise taken out of a beautiful dream.
